"Efter et angreb på Aalborg Lufthavn den 6. maj 1944 blev et "Mustang" jagerfly skudt ned af tyske jagere.

Nedstyrtningen skete ved Lundby, sydøst for Aalborg." (FAF)

På nedstyrtningsstedet her er rejst en mindesten for Flying Officer Eric Lionel Germain, der var pilot på MUS FX955.

Den 17. maj 1944 blev F/O Germain fra MUS FX955 begravet, og samme dag blev Aalborg flyveplads (Aalborg West, nu Aalborg Lufthavn) her
igen angrebet af 8 Mustangs. MUS FX993 blev skudt ned omkring her, mens MUS FZ110 nødlandede ved Hjallerup omkring her.

The crash was at Lundby, south east of Aalborg." (FAF)      

At the crash site in Lundby Krat here a memorial stone has been erected to Flying Officer Eric Lionel Germain, who piloted MUS FX955.                  

F/O Germain from MUS FX955 was buried on 17 May 1944, and the very same day Aalborg Air Station (Aalborg West, now Aalborg Airport) here
was again attacked by 8 Mustangs. MUS FX993 was shot down maybe about here, while MUS FZ110 crash landed at Hjallerup about here.
