  Denne Lancaster, LAN LL950, på minelægningsoperation natten til den 22. maj 1944 blev skudt i brand
af en tysk natjager over Midtjylland og styrtede ned lige vest for Vesterlund, sydvest for Nr. Snede (monument rejst
her). En del af flykroppen blev fundet øst for Dørken by (faktisk her 700 m NV for Dørken, se mere).
Alle ombordværende blev dræbt. De dræbte flyvere blev begravet i Esbjerg den 27. maj 1944. (Kilde: FAF)

Flight Sergeant (Navigator) James Mitchell Henderson, 35 år, var søn af Alexander og Agnes Henderson,
Alloa, Clackmannanshire, United Kingdom; gift med Sheila Henderson.

 On a minelaying operation on the night before 22 May 1944 LAN LL950 was shot down by a German night fighter over Jutland, caught fire and crashed just west of Vesterlund, south west of Nr. Snede (monument
erected
here.) A part of the fuselage was found east of the village of Dørken (as a matter of fact here 700 m NW
of Dørken, see more)

All on board perished. The killed airmen were buried in Esbjerg on 27 May 1944.

The memorial stone with inscription and the stones to the 7 airmen are among the trees.

God's peace be with those who gave their lives for freedom and for right.
He
is remembered on The Walls of Names at the International Bomber Command Centre, Phase 1, Panel 48.
IBCC states about Henderson's Trade: Air Bomber. CWGC mentions no Trade, but his headstone does.
Both Richardson and Henderson are listed as Navigators on headstones. p324MACR:Henderson: Air Bomber!
