Halifax YAM 16 Her sidder flyets pilot ved flyrattet.

The Pilot works here at the control
column with yoke. He was always the
Captain of the plane even if he was a
Sergeant and others in the plane were Officers.
During training in Canada under the CATP
there were special classes for each crew position. At a suitable time all airmen were
gathered in a big hall. "Right chaps, sort yourselves out." Every pilot had to pick a
full crew, and if you were not a pilot, you
had to find one to whom you could entrust
your life! Well, who takes the initiative?
The system worked! The rest of the time in Canada was partly training as a crew, partly training in your crew position.
