"I forbindelse med en mineudlægningsoperation natten til den 15. februar 1945 nedstyrtede en "Halifax"
i havet et sted syd for Sjælland. Hele besætningen omkom. Flyets pilot, J.P. Braund, blev begravet den
14. maj 1945." (FAF) Han blev fundet ved Kobæk Strand (omkring her) og begravet den samme dag.

Flight Lieutenant (Pilot) John Prower Braund, 22 år, var søn af William Powell og Greta Emily Braund,
Pinner, Middlesex, United Kingdom. Hans bror Marwood Paul faldt også.

"In connection with a minelaying operation the night before 15 February, 1945 a "Halifax" crashed into
the sea somewhere south of Zealand. All of the crew perished. The pilot, J.P. Braund, was buried on 14 May, 1945." (FAF) He was found on the Kobæk Beach (about

Flight Lieutenant (Pilot) John Prower Braund, 22, was the son of William Powell and Greta Emily Braund,
of Pinner, Middlesex, United Kingdom.
He is remembered on The Walls of Names at the International Bomber Command Centre, Phase 2, P 135.
His brother Marwood Paul also fell. (Source: CWGC) Both parents are buried in this plot! Both of the twin
