B17 42-30433 ned på hjemvejen fra et bombetogt til Arnimswalde.

"Den 11. april 1944 passerede to afdelinger amerikanske bombefly Danmark, i alt 657 fly, foruden eskortejagere.

Besætningen sprang ud med faldskærm, inden B17 42-30433 styrtede ned ved Stoltebüll. 4 flyvere overlevede. (Kilde: AOD)

On 11 April 1944 B17 42-30433 crashed on the return flight from a bombing raid on Arnimswalde.

"On 11 April 1944 two formations of American bombers flew over Denmark with a total of 657 bombers and a number of escorting fighters.
That day the USAAF lost 52 bombers and 12 fighters." (FAF) 6 B-17s from this attack are included in www.airmen.dk !
