Den 24. september 1942 mavelandede LAN R5905 nær Madum (som er her). Jeg spurgte i telefonen en venlig mand, om han vidste, hvor flyet var
styrtet ned. "Nej," sagde han, "men prøv at spørge - - ." Samme svar fra næste og næste igen, til Ove Tved som nummer 10 kunne udpege marken og fortælle,
hvem der dyrkede jorden. Ham kunne Keld Vinther og hans venner kontakte, inden de tog ud med metaldetektorer. Se Patroner fundet her 18 JAN 2015. Se Fotos.
Patronerne ses nu i udstillingen (RKSK) på Ringkøbing Museum. Nødlandingen var her, omkring 200 m vest for Madumflodvej 11A, 6990 Ulfborg.  
Flyet var blevet ramt af skud fra en kanon, der stod ved viadukten her nord for Ulfborg. (Kilde: Ove Tved, 12 år i 1942) Det var på vej til Wismar på et bombetogt,
da det blev ramt af flak, se p111MACR.
Efter nødlandingen holdt flyverne sig på fri fod nogen tid, men de blev taget til fange nogle timer efter at de havde forladt gården Øster Høgsbjerg. (Kilde: AOD)

De 7 flyvere blev ført til Tyske krigsfangelejre.    
"Sgt W.S.Gregory blev interneret i lejrene  8B/344 Lamsdorf  med Sgt J.W.Hargeaves, Sgt W.V.Richards, Sgt C.V.THurley, Sgt J.B.Vardy og Sgt A.C.Stockley.

On 24 September 1942 LAN R5905 performed a wheels up landing near Madum (which is here). On the telephone I asked a kind man if he knew
where the plane had crashed. "No," he said, "but try to ask - - ." Same answer from the next and the next again till Ove Tved as number 10 to be asked could point
out the field and tell me who cultivated it. Then Keld Vinther and his friends contacted him, before they went there with metal detectors. See Photos  and see
Cartridges found here on 18 JAN 2015. Now the cartridges can be seen in the exhibition (RKSK) at Ringkøbing Museum.
The forced landing was
here, about 200 m west of Madumflodvej 11A, 6990 Ulfborg. The plane had been hit from a gun placed at the viaduct here
north of Ulfborg. (Source: (Ove Tved, 12 years old in 1942.) It was heading for Wismar on a bombing raid when it was hit by flak, see p111MACR.

The airmen were at large for some time after the forced landing, but they were taken captive some hours after they had left the farm Øster Høgsbjerg. (Source: AOD)

The 7 airmen were taken to German POW-Camps.
