På hjemvejen kolliderede HAL MZ342 med en Lancaster, som ikke fik alvorlige skader, men HAL MZ342 styrtede ned. Hele besætningen blev dræbt.

Flight Lieutenant Noel Burrows, 29 år, var søn af Thomas og Margaret Burrows; gift med Mary Burrows, Pontllanfraith, Monmouthshire, United Kingdom.

On 9 February 1945 this Halifax crashed into the North Sea in connection with a bombing raid on Politz near Stettin - Szczecin which it was to support.

On the return flight HAL MZ342 collided with a Lancaster which was not seriously damaged, but HAL MZ342 crashed. All of the crew perished.
