HAL MZ805 på en minelægningsoperation til 
Flensborg Fjord 
skudt ned af en tysk natjager.  
Flyet eksploderede i luften og styrtede ned øst for
Langeland.

Pilot Officer Harold Allen Carruthers, 24 år, var søn af Clinton I. og 
Margaret E. Carruthers, Biggar, Saskatchewan, Canada. 
Hans navn er på Panel 280 på the Runnymede Memorial blandt mere end 20.000 navne
