BFI NE955 blev ramt af flak under minelægning i Kiel Bugt, så flyet måtte nødlande på Nordsøen 60 miles vest for Jylland den 3. maj 1945.

Warrant Officer (Pilot) Philip Brett og Warrant Officer (Navigator) William G. Boorer klarede at komme i flyets gummibåd og de drev rundt i 4 dage.
De blev fundet den 7. maj 1945 af den danske fiskekutter E 428 "Ella" af Esbjerg omkring her og taget med til sygehuset i Esbjerg. (Kilde: AOD)

On 3 May 1945
BFI NE955 was hit by flak during a minelaying operation in the Kiel Bay, so it had to ditch in the North Sea 60 miles west of Jutland.

Warrant Officer (Pilot) Philip Brett and Warrant Officer (Navigator) William G. Boorer managed to get into the dinghy, and they drifted around for 4 days.
They were found on 7 May 1945 by the Danish cutter E 428 "Ella" of Esbjerg about here and taken to the hospital in Esbjerg. (Source: AOD)
