Fru Emilie Henriksen broderede 47 navne: Original 1965* St. Clement Danes 1966* Horsens 1970
i Søndergade 26.

Mrs. Emilie Henriksen embroidered 47 names: Original 1965* St. Clement Danes 1966* Horsens 1970
In a corner of each of the 3 cross stitch embroideries she discreetly sewed the year:
EH 1965 * EH 1966 * EH 1966
with her initials. (Not 1970, see the end of her letter)

47 names in St. Clement Danes in a cross stitch embroidery and in a corner she discreetly sewed EH 1966.
In 1970 she presented the Municipality of Horsens with an exact copy which was placed in the assembly hall in
the old city hall at Søndergade 26. In 2016 it was taken to Horsens Museum (here) Sundvej 1A, DK-8700 Horsens.
On the reverse side of the embroidery in Horsens is a sheet with this text (translated by AS):

"I sent my embroidery to the church of the Danish vikings, St. Clement Danes, London on 28 February 1966.
It was received by the Reverend Ashton. The church was consecrated to the Royal Air Force in 1958.
I was on tour with the Seamen's Church to England and Scotland from 25 April to 2 May 1966. We were 34 participants and we were kindly welcomed in the church by the Reverend Ashton. He said, "I am fond of the embroidery."
The framed embroidery is placed in the crypt.
In the church there are books with the names of the thousands of airmen of the RAF who lost their lives during the war. Here are also the names of 26 killed Danish airmen of the RAF.

Even if I give the embroidery to Horsens in 1970 I have embroidered 1966, as I thought that the embroideries were
to be similar.
