Den 26. oktober 1941 styrtede WEL Z8946 i tidevandsområdet ved Rømøs sydspids (omkring her) på et bombetogt til Hamburg.

Sgt L. C. Bentley blev fundet drevet ind ved Nymindegab (omkring her). Han blev begravet i Esbjerg den 18. august 1942.
Den 14. marts 1944 blev Sgt D. S. Fisk fundet  drevet ind ved Ballum sluse (omkring her). Han blev begravet i Esbjerg den 17. marts 1944.
Sgt F. W. Wade har ingen kendt grav.
Sgt T. C. Bartle, P/O I. H. Collett og P/O J. S. Walters blev taget til fange. (Kilde: AOD)

Sgt T.C.Bartle blev interneret i L8B Teschen / L6 Heydekrug  / 357 Fallingbostel. P/O I.H.Collett RNZAF i  L1 Barth / L3 Sagan.

On 26 October 1941 WEL Z8946 crashed in the tidal waters south of Rømø (about here) on a bombing raid on Hamburg.

Sgt L. C. Bentley was found drifted ashore at Nymindegab (about here). He was buried in Esbjerg on 18 August 1942.
On 14 March 1944 Sgt D. S. Fisk was found drifted ashore at the Ballum Locks (about here). He was buried in Esbjerg on 17 March 1944.
Sgt F. W. Wade has no known grave.
