Den 9. oktober 1943 styrtede B17 42-30802 ned på Juvre Sande (omkring her) på nordspidsen af Rømø.

Flyet blev skudt ned af en Ju88 på hjemvejen fra et bombetogt til Gdynia (her). Hele besætningen nåede at springe ud inden styrtet.

Alle 10 flyvere blev taget til fange og
blev ført til Tyske krigsfangelejre.

On 9 October 1943 B17 42-30802 crashed into Juvre Sande (about here) near the north tip of Rømø.
The plane was shot down by a Ju88 on the return flight from a bombing raid on Gdynia (here). All of the crew managed to bail out before the crash.
All of the 10 airmen were captured and taken
to German POW-Camps.
