  Den 4. januar 1944 mavelandede 
B17 42-30606 "El Diablo" på den sydlige del af Rømø (omkring
her) i 
forbindelse med et bombetogt til Kiel. (MACR) 
MACR: "El Diablo" i kamp med tyske jagere og 
tvunget til at lande." 
 
Besætningen overlevede. De 10 flyvere prøvede at slippe væk, men de blev taget 
til fange af tyskerne og  
ført til 
Tyske krigsfangelejre. 
Sergeant Milton J. Badeaux var Left Waist Gunner på 
B17 42-30606.

Rømø (about
here) in 
connection with a bombing raid on Kiel. (MACR) 
MACR: "El Diablo" in combat with German fighters 
and forced to land." 
The crew survived. The 10 airmen tried to get 
away, but they were captured by the Germans and 
taken to 
German POW-Camps.
