Flight Sergeant Alfred Edward Lewis, 25, was the son of Herbert and Mabel Jane Lewis, of Coolamon, New South Wales, Australia.
He is commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial, Panel 193, among more than 20,000 airmen who have no known grave. (Source: CWGC)

On 29 April 1943 STI R9290 crashed into the sea about here near Vesternæs. (Danish) Aviation Historical Review writes:

"28 - 29 april 1943 (00.35 hours) The Langelands Bælt near Vesternæs.  Stirling Mk I W7513 (AA-G)
75 BS, 3 BG, Newmarket, Suffolk.

7 MIA.
