Halifax i Nordsøen i forbindelse med et bombeangreb på Politz 
ved 
Stettin som 
flyet skulle støtte. 
På hjemvejen kolliderede HAL MZ342 med en Lancaster, som 
ikke fik alvorlige skader, men 
HAL MZ342 styrtede ned. Hele besætningen blev dræbt.

den 21. august 1945. Begravelsen på Husby Kirkegård fandt 
sted den 24. august 1945 ved cst. sognepræst C. Mygind. (FAF)

  On 9 February 1945 this Halifax crashed 
into the North Sea in connection with a bombing raid 
on Politz near 
Stettin - Szczecin 
which it was to support. 
On the return flight HAL MZ342 collided with a Lancaster 
which was not seriously damaged, but 
HAL MZ342 crashed. All of the crew perished. (Sources:

Sgt Woods was washed ashore about
here on 21 
August 1945. The burial in Husby Churchyard 
took place on 24 August 1945. Acting Vicar C. Mygind officiated at the graveside
