Patrick Joseph Cramer blev født den 10. marts
1909 i Belfast i Nordirland. Som ung emigrerede han til Australien, hvor

og Valerie i 1938 og
1940.
Sidst i juli 1939 meldte han sig til
Australian Military Forces og familiern flyttede til Townsville. Han blev
accepteret af
Royal Australian Air Force i maj 1941, og i juni 1942 blev et foto med ham
og døtrene taget, inden han sejlede til England.
Træningen i England var intens, men
han fandt tid til at skrive lange breve til sin hustru Rose. Nyheden om at
deres søn
Terry blev født var en stor glæde for ham. Det ser ud til at han fik nye
venner, hvor han kom frem.
Han overlevede et
antal bombetogter som beskrevet i bogen "Patrick's Story" trykt i få
eksemplarer til familien og senere

Den 21. april 1943 blev
LAN ED614 skudt ned af en tysk natjager. Flyet
styrtede ned nær Vester Vedsted, som fortalt af
Aase Kjems og andre. Patrick Cramer overlevede i
nogle få timer. Han og de 6 andre flyvere blev begravet i
Esbjerg.

1909 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. As a young man he emigrated to
Australia where he and Rose married in 1936. They had Berenice and Valerie
in 1938 and 1940.
In late
July 1939 he joined the Australian Military Forces and the family moved to
Townsville. He was accepted by the
Royal Australian Air Force in May 1941, and in June 1942 a photo with him
and his daughters was taken before he sailed
to the U.K.
The
training in the U.K. was intense, but he found time to write long letters to
his wife Rose. The news of the birth of their
son Terry was a great joy to him. It seems that he had new friends whereever
he came.
He
survived a number of bombing raids as described in the book ”Patrick’s
Story” printed in a few copies for his family and See his name and
more
later presented to Aase Kjems who made it available to AirmenDK.
at The Australian War Memorial.
On 21
April 1943 LAN ED614 was shot down by a German night
fighter. It crashed near Vester Vedsted as told by
Aase Kjems and others. Patrick Cramer survived for
a few hours. He and the 6 other airmen were buried in
Esbjerg.
