Den 14. september 1943 styrtede HAL JD269 brændende ned ved banelinjen 6 km nord for Esbjerg (omkring her).

Flyet var på en våbenflyvning til den polske modstandsbevægelse. Hele besætningen omkom. De 7 flyvere blev begravet i Esbjerg den 21. september 1943.

"Flyet skudt ned kl. 21.38 af flak fra flåden omkring 6 km nord for Esbjerg nær jernbanelinjen Esbjerg-Varde. Ingen overlevende." (p221MACR)

De 3 polske agenter Kazimierz Lewko, Wladyslaw Siakiewiez og Ryszard Kazimierz Skowronski skulle nedkastes med faldskærm.

On 14 September 1943 HAL JD269 crashed, burning, near the railway line 4 miles north of Esbjerg (about here).

The plane was on a supply operation to the Polish resistance movement. All of the crew perished.
