Den 22. marts 1945 styrtede LAN ME372 i Nordsøen i forbindelse med et bombetogt til Hamburg. Hele besætningen omkom.

E. K. Whitechurch blev fundet ilanddrevet den 19. juni 1945 på Vejers Strand (omkring her).
Med hestevogn blev hans lig ført til strandfoged Bloch, Vejers, hvor ligsynet blev foretaget. Den 23. juni 1945 blev han begravet i Mosevrå. (Kilde: FAF)

On 22 March 1945 LAN ME372 crashed into the North Sea in connection with a bombing raid on Hamburg. All of the crew perished.

On 19 June 1945 E. K. Whitechurch was found drifted ashore on Vejers Strand (about here). He was taken on a horsedrawn carriage to receiver of wrecks
Bloch, Vejers for a medical inspection of his body. On 23 June 1945 he was buried in Mosevraa Churchyard. (Source: FAF)
