Den 7. marts 1945 styrtede LAN NG396 i Østersøen i forbindelse med et bombetogt til Sassnitz (her). Hele besætningen omkom.

Pilot Officer James Pickup, 32 år, var søn af James og Ada Pickup; gift med Jean Pickup, Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire, United Kingdom.

On 7 March 1945 LAN NG396 crashed into the Baltic Sea in connection with a bombing raid on Sassnitz (here). All of the crew perished.

6 airmen were reported Missing in Action.

Pilot Officer James Pickup, 32, was the son of James and Ada Pickup, and the husband of Jean Pickup, of Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire, United Kingdom.
