"Den 9. oktober 1943 passerede store styrker amerikanske bombere over Danmark på vej til og fra bombemål i Østpreussen, Danzig, Polen og den østlige
del af Tyskland. Et B-17 fly udsendt mod Anklam (her) nedstyrtede denne dag i Østersøen. Hele besætningen omkom." (FAF)

"On 9 October 1943 great formations of American bombers flew over Denmark to or from targets for bombing raids in East Preussia, Danzig (Gdansk), Poland
and the eastern part of Germany. This day a B-17 targeting Anklam (here) crashed into the Baltic Sea. All of the crew perished." (FAF)
