Den 23. april 1944 kl. 23.15 styrtede STI LJ526 på en mark ved Hovgaarden ved Øster Skerninge
(her) nær Svendborg. Det blev skudt ned af en tysk natjager under en mineudlægningsoperation til

med Lilian Thelma Walker, Essendon, Victoria, Australia.
