Den 12. april 1943 vendte WEL HE491 ikke hjem fra en minelægningsoperation.
Flyet må have styrtet ned i Nordsøen. Hele besætningen omkom.

Den 20. juni 1943 blev E. Kitt fundet drevet in omkring her nord for Esbjerg.

It must have crashed into the North Sea. All of the crew perished.

On 20 June 1943 E. Kitt was found drifted ashore about here north of Esbjerg.
