Den 9. maj 1942 styrtede WEL X3480 ned nær Rejsby (som er her) i forbindelse med et bombetogt
til Warnemünde (her overblik her)  - eller lavede en hård nødlanding. Det blev ramt af flak,
der lavede alvorlige skader på flyet og dræbte P/O Porter.
