Den 27. juni 1940 styrtede HAM P1329 i Nordsøen et sted ud for Holland på tilbagevejen fra et bombetogt mod basen Langenhagen nær Hannover.
 HAM P1329 forlod RAF Waddington kl. 22.15 den 26. juni. Kl. 03.26 sendte dette Hampden fly meddelelse om at det returnerede på en motor.

Flight Sergeant William Thomas Joseph Southey, 27 år, var søn af William James Southey og Nina Southey; gift med Sylma Myrtle Beatrice Southey, Brighton, Sussex, United Kingdom.
