NO KNOWN grave - ingen kendt grav

+ HAL JP330.
I 25 FT-fly er der 127 uden kendt grav. Søg e777 i databasen for at se alle.
flyver begravet i Sverige.

Runnymede Memorial her, overblik her. Cooper's Hill Lane, Egham, Surrey TW20, UK.
Se fotos fra NOV 2013. Her ses et digt af Paul H. Scott, her på dansk.
156 amerikanere af de 937 flyvere uden kendt grav set i AirmenDK har deres navne indhugget i Tablets of the Missing, Cambridge American Cemetery og
54 ses i Netherlands  American Cemetery. Se hvor 4 flyvere fra PAF mindes.

Most of the airmen, who have no known grave, drowned at sea and disappeared.
The crew is included in the excellent Airwar over Denmark and then also in www.airmen.dk if either the plane or an airman from it came down in Denmark. Flyvehistorisk Tidsskrift (Danish) Aviation Historical Review mentions 25 planes more where all of the crew disappeared. + HAL JP330.
In 25 FT-planes
there are 127 airmen with NO KNOWN grave. Search e777- see all.
That means 937
fallen allied airmen with NO KNOWN grave in Denmark - and that
is without West Jutland and South Jutland, which FT never managed to register in
1985-90! Maybe that would have added 10-20 more planes from the North Sea or the
Baltic Sea, where all of the crew disappeared. 25 FT-planes has 1 airman buried in Sweden.
Towards the end of the war the Germans in many cases buried the fallen allied airmen close to the crash site. Often it was noticed by the local residents, who if not
before then right after the liberation on 5 May 1945 managed to get the airmen buried in a churchyard. In some cases it was not possible for Danes to find where the
fallen airmen had been dug down.

In Denmark a memorial tablet at Tuborg Harbour to allied airmen 1939 - 1945 who found their final resting place in Danish waters was unveiled in 1980.
In England more than 20,000 airmen of RAF, RCAF, RAAF and RNZAF with no known grave are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial here, and here.
