On 26 May 1940 Wireless Operator William George Newton was found drifted ashore on Rømø (maybe about here). On 28 May the Wehrmacht carried out a military burial where Vicar R. Jørgensen officiated at the graveside. Bertram David Shepperson disappeared at sea. John Edward Baskerville, Leslie Close and Emery Orville Fennell are buried in Kiel in Germany.
