"Udsendt på minelægningsoperation natten til den 25. september 1942 blev en Lancaster skudt
ned over Jylland. Flyet ramte jorden ved Grønhøj nord for Karup. Alle ombord blev dræbt. Hele den

A Lancaster was shot down over Jutland on a minelaying operation the night before 25 September, 1942. The plane crashed at Grønhøj north of Karup. All on board were killed. The airmen were buried on

One airman was killed, when he hit the ground
here. He got out of the plane too late to make use of his
parachute. It did not have time to open up.

Sergeant (Pilot) Lewis Wilson Morrison, 27, was the son of Lewis and Jessie Morrison, of Aberdeen.

He is remembered on The Walls of Names at the International Bomber Command Centre, Phase 1, Panel 76.
