Om aftenen den 13. oktober 1942 styrtede WEL BJ653
ned nær Lintrup, her
omkring 250 m nord for Tornumgårdsvej 3, 6660 Lintrup og omkring 1 km øst for
Wellings Landsbymuseum hvor disse dele fra flyet er udstillet blandt meget andet.

"Gryde støbt af aluminium fra nedskudt tysk bombefly i Mejlby 1942.
Af Søren Welling brugt som kirkeklokke i tårnet." Den hænger nu nær indgangen
til kirken, der ses til højre i billedet med en nyere, lav klokkestabel foran døren.
Flyet var en britisk Wellington.

In the evening of 13 October 1942 WEL BJ653 crashed near Lintrup, here
about 250 m north of Tornumgaardsvej 3, DK-6660 Lintrup about 1 km east of
Wellings Village Museum where these parts from the plane are on display.

"Pot cast in aluminium from a German bomber shot down in Mejlby in 1942.
By Søren Welling used as a church bell in the tower." Now it is placed near
the entrance to the church seen in the right part of the photo.
The roof of the low present bell frame is seen to the left of the church.
The bomber was a British Wellington.
