Den 2. september 1942 styrtede  LAN R5741 i havet. Hele besætningen omkom.

Flyet forlod RAF Woodhall Spa kl. 23.46 den 1. september 1942 på et bombetogt mod Saarbrücken (her). (Kilde: MACR)

Netop startet på en mission måtte dette fly vende om på grund af tekniske vanskeligheder. Fra basen gav man over radioen piloten besked om, at han skulle lette
flyet for en del af sit brændstof. Flyet må være styrtet i havet. (Kilde FAF)

R. H. Morgan blev ført fra Fanø (her, overblik her) til Esbjerg og blev begravet den 4. november 1942. (Kilde FAF)
F. P. Coaker må være drevet ind på Vestkysten (måske omkring her, overblik her). Han blev begravet i Lemvig af sognepræsten den 17. november 1942. (Kilde FAF)

On 2 September 1942 LAN R5741 crashed into the sea. All of the crew perished.
The plane left RAF Woodhall Spa at 2346 hours on 1 September 1942 on a bombing raid targeting Saarbrücken

Right after the start of a mission this plane had to turn around due to technical problems. From the base the Pilot was ordered by radio to lighten
the plane for part of its fuel. The plane must have crashed into the sea. (Source: FAF)

R. H. Morgan was taken from Fanø (here, overview here) to Esbjerg. He was buried on 4 November 1942. (Source: FAF)
F. P Coaker must have been washed ashore on the western coast of Jutland (maybe about here, overview here). On 17 November 1942 he was buried in Lemvig.
