B24 EV947 forsvandt den 15. juli 1944 under anti shipping patrulje over Nordsøen og Skagerrak. Flyet formodes nødlandet i Skagerrak.
Liget af F/O L.B. Mollard blev fundet ved Højen (omkring her) den 4. september, og den 7. september blev
han begravet på Skagen Kirkegård af pastor H.P. Waage Beck.
Et andet besætningsmedlem, P/O Hilton, blev fundet i en gummibåd på havet, og han er begravet i England.

On 15 July 1944 B24 EV947 disappeared on an anti shipping patrol over the North Sea and the
Skagerrak, presumably ditched in the Skagerrak.
The body of F/O L.B. Mollard was found at Højen (about here) on 4 September, and he was buried in
Skagen Cemetery on 7 September by vicar H.P. Waage Beck.
Another crew member, P/O Hilton, was found in a dinghy at sea, and he is buried in England.
