Den 16. maj 1944 styrtede LAN LL963 ved Avernakø og
LAN ME726 i Gamtofte under samme mission. Begge Lancasters var fra RAF Elsam Wolds.
Propel fra LAN LL963 afsløres af Sgt Andrew Rudolson,
Royal Air Force og Den Britiske Ambassade og formand Ole Munck Jensen, Assens Dykkerklub.
Doris Hendrick og andre slægtninge til flyverne, der omkom i Gamtofte, deltog i højtideligheden. Se Faldne engelske flyvere mindes og Assens i engelsk avis.

On 16 May 1944 LAN LL963 crashed at Avernakø and LAN ME726 in Gamtofte on the same mission. Both Lancasters were from RAF Elsam Wolds.

LAN LL963 is unveiled by Sgt Andrew Rudolson, the Royal Air Force and the British Embassy in Copenhagen and chairman Ole Munck Jensen,
Assens Diving Club.
