	Träslövsbåt fann störtad kanadensere
”Vale” förde in den omkomne flygaren till Träslövsläge, och landsfiskalen
	hade inte något större besvär
	Träslövstrawler found a crashed Canadian
On Monday morning the Träslövsläge trawler "Vale" found
the corpse of a Canadian aviator in the waters east of Anholt's lightship.
Judging from several signs he had fallen victim to a convoy battle on the
	night before Monday.
In the immediate vicinity there was a large German
convoy assembled and one of the boats had the flags hauled on half bar to
indicate that they were carrying dead people on board.
On the water were large oil stains, and wreckage and dinghies floated
around. Another Träslöv trawler picked up a couple of dinghies and some
bags. “Vale" took the deceased airman to Träslövsläge, and the district police superintendent did not have much trouble identifying him. On the airman's identity card was his name, Joseph Leo Gallipeau. The card also showed that he was a Canadian and was born in 1923. The last note he made on his card was dated February 25, which means Sunday. Gallipeau will be buried in Varberg at half past three on Friday afternoon. |
