Den 22. februar 1944 styrtede B17 42-31377 ned her i Thy efter at besætningen med Sgt Lester Schrenk var sprunget ud med faldskærm. Se 2 min. video. Portrætter fra artikler om Lester Schrenk i Thisted Dagblad. Den 2. januar 2011 sendte han foto af håndtag og ID fra flyets Sperry Ball Turret, hvor han var skytte.

On 2 January 2011 he sent photo of a turret control from the Sperry Ball Turret - his old crew position - and of ID. He was presented with the Identification-plate
