The air crash at Revvej - now the type of plane is settled by Signe Ravn. See also page 15.

Local eye witness accounts from 1943 help giving killed British airmen new headstones with their names on.

HALSSKOV: For a long time Anders Straarup, who is in charge of the website www.airmen.dk, has investigated the details of the air crash at Revvej on 21 April 1943.

Now it has been established that the crashed plane was of the type Halifax DT628. The  Air Historical Branch of the Royal Air Force has acknowledged this in the light
of German reports and the eye witness accounts given by residents of Korsør in the Korsør Posten and elsewhere.

And that means that it is now known with certainty that 8, not only 7, airmen were killed when the plane was shot down by the Germans during World War II.

The airmen will now be provided with headstones with their names on. Work to establish a memorial in the town is in progress. /15 (More on page 15)
