Den 27. september 1943 kl. 19.21 lettede HAL LK648 fra RAF Tholthorpe i Yorkshire på bombetogt
mod Hannover.
"Fly styrtet i Nordsøen. Ingen overlevende. Gummibåd med ligene af F/Lt Hallas og F/Lt Wallace samlet
op 9. oktober 1943 på position 7 sømil ØNØ for Slugen N af fiskekutter E. 425 "Chr. Muff" og taget til

On 27 September 1943 at 19.21 hrs HAL LK648 took off from  RAF Tholthorpe in Yorkshire on a
bombing raid targeting Hanover.
"Aircraft crashed in North Sea. No survivors. Dinghy containing the bodies of F/Lts Hallas and Wallace
picked up on October 9 1943 in position 7 Nautical miles ENE of Slugen N by fishing vessel
E. 425 "Chr. Muff" and carried to Esbjerg same day. Skipper of E. 425: Christen Enevoldsen." (MACR)
